Implementation of Resettlement & Rehabilitation Policy for Gourangdih ABC Coal Mine at Asansol, West Bengal.
Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) is based on complete enumeration of Displaced Families (DFs)/Displaced Persons (DPs) and socioeconomic data/ information of impacted DFs/DPs generated through sample socio-economic surveys. The RAP of the DFs/DPs has been taken up for Gorangdih Mines to determine the magnitude of displacement and potential losses and identify vulnerable groups block essentially unchanged.
Our Approach
The Gourangdih ABC coal block covers an area of about 357 ha and lies in the north central part of the Raniganj Coalfield, in the West Burdwan district of West Bengal. The proposed opencast coal project in the block would include all activities and physical works associated with the construction, operation, modification and decommissioning of a mining project, including, but not limited to, the following key activities and components:
