The project involved conducting a Social Impact Assessment (SIA) and developing a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Plan for Godawari Ispat & Power Limited (GIPL) in Chhattisgarh. The primary objective was to assess the social impacts of GIPL’s industrial activities and create a CSR plan to mitigate negative effects and promote positive outcomes. The SIA focused on understanding the socio-economic conditions of the local communities, while the CSR plan aimed at enhancing their quality of life through targeted interventions.
Our Approach
The approach involved conducting a comprehensive Social Impact Assessment (SIA) that included household surveys, focus group discussions, and stakeholder interviews. The assessment addressed various aspects such as health, education, livelihood, and social infrastructure. Based on the findings, the project team developed a CSR plan targeting critical issues and leveraging opportunities for community development. Key initiatives encompassed healthcare camps, vocational training programs, educational scholarships, and infrastructure development projects. The project emphasized transparency and accountability, implementing mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of CSR activities. Community participation was encouraged throughout the process to ensure initiatives were well-received and aligned with local needs. Key components include:
